I’m assuming you’re interested in film production, not film studies. In the midwest, check out: Columbia College, Bowling Green State U, Wayne State U (Ohio), and Northwestern. Beloit College may also worth a look – although they don’t have a film major, per se, they have an excellent film production studio for a small school. Denison U (Ohio), U of Michigan, Uof Pittsburgh, U of Chicago, and Macalester also have film studies majors.
Branching out, in addition to those schools mentioned above (especially Chapman), check out: California Institute of the Arts, Loyola Marymount, SUNY Purchase, U of Montana, Emerson College, Syracuse, and Hampshire College as possibilities.
A great site for tracking down more ideas (and reading reviews from current/former students) is:
Good luck!
